The past week.

Well things have been happening in the past one week. Everyone’s been really busy especially with the STAR Program in place and for the first time in a long long while, the library is crowded!

However, I must say despite that, the Parliament hasn’t been stopping our work! On Wednesday, we met for a preparatory meeting so as to prepare issues to discuss during our session next Wednesday, 25th April. As usual, all who are interested are welcome come and watch the Parliament in session.

As for the Polo Tees, they’ve been given out haven’t they? (or you’re supposed to collect them from the office) Anyway I saw quite a few Innovians wearing it yesterday (Friday). How does it feel? Is it comfortable? Give us your feedback and comments either here, or on MLG. But please, do leave your names so we know who to reply to.
In council news, congrats to all JC 1s who have successfully made it into council! As you guys gear up in preparation for your Investiture, a piece of advice from your seniors,

Whatever comes your way, always remember: Friends first. Council next.

No matter what happens, all these people who will wear the badge with you, are first and foremost your friends. Then Councillors. Remember to have fun.

To one and all: Have a great weekend.

Say say say!

Well well well. As many of you can see, it’s been quite awhile since we last updated this thing but really, many of us have been sooooo caught up with schoolwork and trying to stay alive (I swear to God JC 2 sucks the life out of you) that we haven’t had much time to update this blog.

So people if you do see this within 10 days of this being posted, we thank you for being a regular reader. (:

Anyway some updates on what’s been going on in school and what the Council and Parliament has been doing.

Polo Tee Project

Yes yes yes. If you’ve been reading this regularly (or at least once between September ‘06 and now), you would’ve realized that we promised the polo tees by August, LAST YEAR. However due to some unforeseen circumstances, we were unable to give them to you by then. For that, the 2nd Students’ Council would like to apologise to you for our inefficiencies and empty promises.

But we do hope you let bygones be bygones and look forward. As you can see, we’ve been re-tabulating your orders so that we can pack the shirts accordingly and I assure you that you would get the shirt by the end of this month.

Vending Machines And New Food Stalls

As you can see, the vending machines have FINALLY arrived! If you’ve actually read this regularly (ie since it was first started), you would know that it wasn’t easy getting the machines in because it was a project started by our seniors (the J3s) and it only arrived VERY recently.

But really, we know that nothing is perfect and thus we would like to continually improve on the vending machines. So do give us your feedback and comments whether here, or on the sharepoint forum.

J1 Council Interviews

If you’ve been listening to the morning announcements (though I know many of you don’t. hah!), you would know that we conducted JC 1 Council interviews yesterday. I must say some of our Innovians are indeed impressive. As we enter our second round of interviews (for those who didn’t turn up yesterday), we await with bated breath to see what the future holds for the Student’s Council.

Parliamentary Seating and Students’ Forum

Our next Parliamentary seating would be on Wednesday, 25th April 2007. Time and venue are yet to be confirmed.

The student’s forum would be on Thursday, 26th April 2007 at 11.40 am in the hall.
Should you have any questions about the school, or would simply like to give a suggestion, we invite you to raise the issue during the student’s forum.

Well that’s about all for now. I thank you for your patience (you reached the end of the page!). Till next time, adios amigo!

PS: Since I’m a Lit student, I would like to do our Lit and English teachers some justice by promoting the Literature Blog (!!!!) that they set up! A must read for all students who would like to

“enrich your knowledge and experience of Literature and the arts outside your school curriculum. This is where you can find out about books, movies, music and the latest arts-related events in town and around the world! You can also express your views about them, and discuss your favourites with fellow Lit lovers, including your teachers!”

If reading the above paragraph is enough to get endorphins rushing through your veins, then what are you waiting for? Click here to find out more!

HELLO TO YOU. AND YOU. AND YOU AND YOU AND YOU

Well well well.

Prom came and went. J3s, the 2nd Council and all the college teachers really hope you guys really enjoyed yourselves! Without you, Prom would’ve been nothing. (which is true since if you guys didn’t come, there’ll be no one at prom…)

In the blink of an eye, it is now 2007 and we had Orientation. Which was really really successful. Credits go to all our J2 OGLs, who very kindly volunteered their personal and curriculum time to help our new J1s get used to college life! (Though we know studies have to be your TOP MOST PRIORITY! This is something that the Council believes and supports wholeheartedly.)
To all OGLs, the Council, Ex-Co and the teachers in charge, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Welcome to Innova JC 1s! We really hope you enjoyed yourself during Orientation! 2007 is going to be a really exciting year here in IJ and we really hope you guys would be able to stay and be part of exciting line up of events!

Recognize this building?

3D Council RoomCouncil Withdrawal symptom. I miss being in the council. The first 3D model I every build, and it had to be the council room. I did this to experiment with the new 3D modeller by Google. It’s quite fun and really simple to do. It’s like drawing! Read my article about it.
Anyway, the 2nd Students’ Council and the 1st Council ExCo are going off for camp tomorrow at Johor Bahru! We’ll be back on Friday night. The 1st ExCo has a surprise for the 2nd Council tomorrow night by the way… :D

Dollars worth of thoughts

Hey guys!

The council is organising a fund-raising project called “dollars worth of thoughts!”. Instead of just asking you to donate, we’re giving you an incentive to donate, at the same time promoting reading in Innova. Here’s how it works:

  1. We collect books that are used but still in good condition from you
  2. We then sell the books back to the school (This means that you can buy books that used to belong to someone else, not buy back yours, unless you really want to…) at low prices
  3. The money collected then goes to the air-con fund and to charity
  4. Any books left over will be sold outside of school

Places to donate your books:
- Book drop at the right of the council room door
- Inside the designated box in the staff room
- Directly to any councillor
Use this opportunity to recycle old books, and find “new” ones that you may never find in shops anymore! How about sell that Harry Potter 1 book? Maybe someone else who hasn’t read it before may come across it!
Needy students, you can take this opportunity to purchase books at cheap prices!

So contribute to this project! We hope you will give us your support!

Daniel out!

IJC 2nd Students’ Council

Outlook on the 2nd council, I would say still slighty cloudy for now. Need alot of pushing and guiding but work done is GREAT! I’m very proud of the work the bunch of them have come up with. But I guess some need a harder push than others.

So now, I’m praying things will go better for them and for me as well. And for ur info…I’m out of office on 24th May 2005. Out of office without official title and badge dun mean I won’t still be here=)

Polo Tees

Just to reply to airman08 (is that correct?) on my previous shirt post, I’m speechless to ur suggestion..but we’ve come this far and people have voted…so I can just apologize.

Alright so all of you wanna know the results as of now? -i say as of now cos I’m extending the date for the surveys. For j1 classes at camp…i really can’t wait. Mrs Cheah’s deadline is this friday and on Fri aft I’m gg off for camp=x -

Here Goes..

White Honeycomb     JC2:117     JC1:140     Total:257

Black drifit                JC2:107     JC1:136     Total:243

Orange drifit             JC2:37       JC1:66       Total:103

Design 1                  JC2:71       JC1:118     Total:189

Design 2                  JC2:94       JC1:162     Total:256

Design 3                  JC2:48       JC1:55       Total:103

Wlling to buy            JC2:183     JC1:299     Total:482

Not willing                JC2:48       JC1:43       Total:91

Theres a very close fight between black and white. BIG difference ehs? 15/34 JC2 classes handed in their forms. (some din bother taking it in the frst place) 17/36 JC1 classes handed in theirs. Why are people so apatethic?

I’m glad around 50% of the school responded. I’m upset cos many more people complain all the shit to me, but they don;t really care.

I’ve given what i could give for the school and more. Maybe people shouldn’t ask so much but push themselves to do it instead. But hey, it comes with the job. I never said i could make everyone happy.
